Option 1: Museums are waiting for you!
Toronto has plenty of museums such as the Royal Ontario Museum, Aga Khan Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, etc. They sometimes offer free passes at a specific day and time.
How to get the free passes?
Check the museum website first and learn the specific times. For example, AGO used to offer free passes on Wednesday evenings, also ROM used to offer free passes in evenings on the third Monday of each month.
Option 2: Toronto Public Library is waiting for you!
Toronto Public Library also offers free museum tickets for their members. Plus, it is not only for people who like museums, but it includes passes to Toronto Zoo and Ontario Science Centre. The service is called Museum + Art Pass. For more information, click here.
How to get the free passes?
Every Saturday morning, select TPL branches give free passes. First, choose a branch and check the opening hours. Wake up early to be there before opening time because you are not the only one who wants to get a free pass! The earlier you go, the greater a chance you have to get the pass you want. Keep in mind, they usually have 5 passes for each museum and art center.
How do you use your free pass?
The pass has a due date, keep this in mind. When you go to the museum or art center, please bring your library card with you. Otherwise, you might have some problems at the entrance. So you just need to bring yourself, your library card, your pass, and maybe the person you want to go with.
Can I bring someone with me?
YES! The pass is for 2 adults and 4 children.
